e Père-Jean,
is this old Burgundy vintner built to defy nature, with the shoulders of Hercules and the stength of Samson, the face lightly reddened by the wind, and teeth that look like two rows of pearls under the whitened, RAF-style moustache.
e is also the brave vintner who when, Monsieur le Comte made him taste two of his
wines, found the first good, and after having tasted the second simply didn't answer.
onsieur le Comte asked him eagerly:
- "
o, Père-Jean, what do you think?"
- "
h our Monsieur! that one doesn't need people to talk about it, it will get there on its own!" answered Père-Jean".
